SERVICES

Drilling Services in Rifle and Basalt, CO

Shelton Drilling operates under license # 1095.
We are also Bonded and Insured.
The first step to constructing a well is to get a permit. To do this you need to contact Colorado Department of Water Resources. Shelton Drilling can assist you with this process. We can help you decide where the best place for your well to be located and also help you in filling out the permit application.
One thing to keep in mind is that a drilling rig is a big piece of equipment. It is about 35 feet long and weighs about 60,000 Lbs. So some excavation might be needed for us to get on location.
ONCE WE ARE ON LOCATION
This is where the drilling process begins. Mother nature and local hydrology determines the aspects of our drilling process. One of the common services that we provide that other contractors may not are a 5 " I.d. production casing., which in turn will give you a better over all well. Having more room for a submersible pump will allow it to be easily installed and if necessary, removed if a problem ever occurs. This will also allow the pump to run cooler, increasing its life span.

Our Standard well construction consists of a 7" OD steel surface casing (most drillers use 6 5/8") with a 5" I.D. pvc or steel production casing (other drillers use 4" or 4 1/2"). While the differences seem small in fact it can be very important to the life of your well and your pump system. These differences in construction do increase the initial cost of a well but a water well is usually a very important part of your home's future comfort level.
